MANJUSHREE

Thangkas are sacred scrolls. A painter has to invite the celestial Boddhisatva Manjushree to be seated in his/her boddhi chitta to paint the divinity. After following the austere rules of cleanliness pertaining to body and mind, the devotee and painter uses the traditional measurements to configure Manjushree on the self made canvas. As she paints , the Boddhisatva of compassion comes to life and engages in conversation with her. His sword of lightning slices off all negativities from the painter’s soul. Only Light, the golden Light leads the way. The Light enfolds the painter in a loving embrace and the painter merges into Him.
